Established in 1965 as the go to place for any occasion, Mister A’s continues to be one the best places from which to see San Diego. In the late 60’s the restaurant literally watched the city grow up before its very eyes.  Sitting back on the top of Banker’s Hill the new restaurant towered over its view of the only other skyscraper in town, the El Cortez! As the city grew up, so did the restaurant and with more places to see in San Diego, Mister A’s view only became more spectacular.

Elegance was born and flourished for 35 years.  At the turn of the millennium Bertrand Hug, owner of the renowned Mille Fleurs in Rancho Santa Fe brought a new and more modern era to the once red flocked walls, transforming the restaurant to Bertrand at Mister A’s. A new feel of casual elegance was born. No matter the occasion, guests feel right at home. For guest celebrating a one year anniversary, Mister A’s offers the most romantic dining in San Diego. Understanding the needs of each guest as individuals the staff presents flawless yet friendly and welcoming service. Chef Stephane Voitzwinkler refuses to rest on the view. His time in the kitchen is well spent constantly crafting new creative dishes to wow the guests’ right along with the San Diego ocean view.  Well traveled guests appreciate the unique view from the floor to ceiling windows in the dining room.  An opportunity to see planes landing from the outdoor balcony surrounding the restaurant is not offered in any other city.
