Dress business casual, nice jeans are ok. Please no beach attire: T-shirts or flip-flops, ball caps or Jerseys. Clean collared shirt with Bermuda shorts allowed for lunch, brunch and happy hour until 430 pm. Please Note: This is the most challenging policy to enforce in the restaurant, and most ambiguous. Case-by-case scenarios should be handled by a manager or maître d’. If you see someone run past the desk on the off chance that someone (especially a hostess) is dealing with something else, please let a manager know.
What is Surcharge
The purpose of the surcharge is to support the increases in hourly employee wages and benefits.
Valet & Parking
Valet is located on the 4th Ave side of the building. We DO NOT validate as they are a separate company. If they would like to pay for park in valet it is $10 flat rate for lunch and $12 flat rate for dinner (by card, cash). If guests do not park in valet, the only other option is street parking. Guests DO have the option to pay for valet with their check. If they do, the rate is $2 higher ($12 / $14, respectively) to tip the attendant.
$30 per bottle, unless the bottle is found on our wine list, then the fee will be half of the bottle cost found on our wine list. Larger bottles have bigger corkage fee. Guest can bring in a max of two bottles. New Year’s Eve is ONLY holiday where the fee is $50/btl.
Window Seating Policy
Please ask for a window request when placing a reservation if you would like to be seated by a window. We cannot guarantee any specific place where the guests will be seated unless they have booked a private space with the event coordinator.
Food items such as a cake or special meal request need to be confirmed 72 hours prior, approved by the chef, a kitchen request must be filled out. Any requests related to special menu titles and special menu must be relayed to a manager & noted in the reservation notes. Any pre-pay must be in by 4 pm for the day of.
Cocktail Hour Reservation
Reservations for cocktail hour can only be made if there is a group of 6 or more. We are limited on cocktail seating so please book in advance. Otherwise patio and bar seating are on a first come first serve basis. If you would like to book a larger cocktail reception, please fill out an event inquiry on our website.
Maximum number of Split Checks
Mister A’s has a three-check maximum split policy. Please urge your guests to bring cash if you know that everyone will be paying separately
Policy about children
We welcome everyone; however, we do not have any booster seats or high chairs available.
The restaurant is non-smoking (Can smoke on patio in specified areas only, as will be indicated by management… typically on the East patio)
Cake Cutting Fee
$5 per slice/ per person (if bringing in own must let chef know) Cake Deliveries must be notated in the reservation and brought back to the kitchen.
Custom cakes are on an inquiry basis only. A 72-hour window in advance needs to be given to the kitchen to field the request. The starting price for custom cakes is $15 per person.
Outside party paying for dinner, wine, etc, for a guest (“pre-pay”)
By credit card, an authorization form, which is to be returned to us with necessary information and a physical signature. If a certain wine is chosen it must be set aside for the guest, so we have it when they arrive (ask manager to just confirm that we will have the wine in stock).
Guarantee Form for groups of 10 or more
We require reservation guarantee forms for groups of 10 or more to secure a reservation. There is also an option to use the same card listed on the form as a form of payment.
How many can fit on one table?
The maximum we allow to one table is 12 guests. With a group of 13 or more they will be placed on 2 table right next to each other.
Which holidays require a reservation through the website?
Holidays reservations such as valentine’s day, 4th of July, Thanksgiving, Christmas eve, Christmas day & New Year’s Eve are to be made on our direct website (holiday tab –> Holiday information form) and not over the phone. You are also able to fill out a reservation guarantee form located under the contact us tab. Please call in advance to make sure the requested time is available.
Are available in any amount. They can order online through our website and we keep them at will-call or mail it to them for a $4 shipping fee (local) or they can come into the restaurant and purchase one.
We do not take care of personal flower requests. Green Fresh Florals is the florist for the restaurant (619) 544-0504. All flower deliveries for a reservation will be notated in the reservation. We recommend a short vase as these vases will not obstruct other guests view in the dining room and to prevent it spilling over on the patio.
