If you do not agree with any of these terms, you are prohibited from using or accessing this site. The materials contained in this website are protected by applicable copyright and trademark law.

2. Use License

  1. Permission is granted to temporarily download one copy of the materials (information or software) on Mister A’s website for personal, non-commercial transitory viewing only. This is the grant of a license, not a transfer of title, and under this license you may not:
    1. modify or copy the materials;

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how Mister A’s (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, discloses, and shares personal information about visitors to asrestaurant.com (the “Site”), and describes the rights available to California residents under the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (together, the “CCPA”).

This policy applies to information collected through the Site. It does not apply to information collected offline, in the restaurant, or by third parties whose services you reach through links on our Site.

2. Personal information we collect

We collect the following categories of personal information, using the category names defined by the CCPA.

Identifiers. Name, email address, phone number, postal address, IP address, and unique online identifiers such as cookie IDs and device identifiers. Collected when you contact us, submit an inquiry, sign up for communications, place an order, or browse the Site.

Commercial information. Records of products purchased or considered, order history, and gift card transactions, where you transact with us on the Site.

Internet or other electronic network activity information. Pages viewed, links clicked, referring pages, time spent, browser and device characteristics, and interactions with our advertising.

Geolocation data. Approximate location inferred from IP address. We do not collect precise geolocation.

Health information. Allergies, dietary requirements, food preferences, and food aversions, where you provide them through our tasting menu or events inquiry forms. See Section 3.

Professional or employment-related information. Where you apply for a role with us, the details you submit including your resume, the position sought, and anything you choose to include in your application.

Inferences. Preferences and characteristics drawn from the above, used for advertising audiences.

3. Sensitive personal information

We collect a limited amount of sensitive personal information, and only when you choose to provide it to us.

Health information. Our tasting menu inquiry form asks about allergies, food preferences, and food aversions. Our events inquiry form includes a free-text field where you may choose to share the same. We collect this information solely so that we can prepare and serve food safely and accommodate your requirements.

Information that may reveal religious beliefs. A dietary preference you tell us about may indicate a religious observance. We do not ask about religion, and we do not use any such inference for any purpose other than preparing your meal.

We do not collect government identification numbers, financial account numbers, precise geolocation, biometric or genetic information, racial or ethnic origin, union membership, or the contents of your communications with others. Payment card details are processed directly by Stripe and are not stored on our servers.

How we use it. We use sensitive personal information only to perform the service you have asked us for. We do not use or disclose it to infer characteristics about you, and we do not sell or share it for advertising purposes.

4. Sources of personal information

  • Directly from you, when you fill out one of our inquiry, reservation, events, or employment forms, contact us, subscribe, or make a purchase
  • Automatically from your device as you use the Site
  • From service providers and advertising partners, including analytics and advertising platforms

5. Cookies and tracking technologies

The Site uses cookies and similar technologies. We group them as follows.

Strictly necessary. Required for the Site to function, including shopping cart state, checkout, and payment processing through Stripe and WooCommerce. These cannot be switched off and are not used for advertising.

Statistics and analytics. Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager, used to understand traffic and how visitors use the Site.

Marketing and advertising. Google Ads and our on-site messaging tools, used to measure advertising performance and to build advertising audiences. This category involves sharing personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. See Section 7.

Non-essential cookies and tracking technologies are blocked until you consent. You may accept, decline, or change your choices at any time through the cookie banner or the privacy preferences control available on every page. Full details of each cookie, including its duration, are set out in our Cookie Policy.

  • To process and fulfill orders and gift card purchases
  • To respond to inquiries, reservation requests, and event requests
  • To prepare and serve food safely, including accommodating allergies and dietary requirements you tell us about

  • To comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms

We do not use personal information for purposes materially different from those described here without providing notice.

7. Disclosure and sharing of personal information

We do not sell personal information for money.

We do share personal information as the CCPA defines “sharing,” meaning disclosure to third parties for cross-context behavioral advertising. Specifically, when you consent to marketing cookies, identifiers and internet activity information are shared with Google for advertising measurement and audience building.

Categories of personal information shared in the preceding twelve months: identifiers and internet or other electronic network activity information. We do not share health information or any other sensitive personal information for advertising purposes.

We also disclose personal information to service providers and contractors for business purposes, including our website host, payment processor, analytics providers, email and messaging providers, and professional advisors. These parties are contractually restricted from using the information for their own purposes.

We may also disclose personal information when required by law, in response to lawful requests, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.

We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16 years of age.

8. Your California privacy rights

If you are a California resident, you have the following rights.

Right to know. Request the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you, the sources, the business purpose, and the categories of third parties to whom we disclosed it.

Right to delete. Request deletion of personal information we collected from you, subject to exceptions such as completing a transaction, security, legal compliance, and internal uses reasonably aligned with your expectations.

Right to correct. Request correction of inaccurate personal information.

Right to opt out of sale or sharing. Direct us to stop sharing your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. See Section 9.

Right to limit the use of sensitive personal information. Where a business uses sensitive personal information for purposes beyond performing the services requested, you may direct it to limit that use. We use the sensitive personal information described in Section 3 only to prepare and serve your meal or to consider your job application. If you would like to discuss how we handle this information, please contact us using the details in Section 9.

Right to non-discrimination. We will not deny goods or services, charge different prices, or provide a different level of quality because you exercised any of these rights.

9. How to exercise your rights

To opt out of sharing for advertising, use any of these:

  • The privacy preferences control available on every page of our Site
  • A Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal sent by your browser or extension. We treat a GPC signal as a valid request to opt out of sharing for that browser and device.

To submit a request to know, delete, or correct, contact us:

Verification. To protect your information, we will ask you to provide information sufficient for us to reasonably verify that you are the person about whom we collected personal information. The information we request will depend on the sensitivity of the information and the nature of the request. We will not use information provided for verification for any other purpose.

Authorized agents. You may use an authorized agent to submit a request. We may require the agent to provide proof of authorization and may require you to verify your identity directly with us.

Timing. We will confirm receipt within 10 business days and respond substantively within 45 calendar days. If we need more time, we will notify you and may extend by an additional 45 days.

10. Retention

We retain personal information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, or as required by law.

Cookies and similar technologies. Retention periods are published in our Cookie Policy and reflect the duration configured for each cookie. Consent preferences are stored for 30 days, after which we ask again. Essential shopping and checkout cookies last for the session or as required to complete a transaction. Analytics and marketing cookies last up to one year.

Form submissions. Inquiries, reservation and event requests, and job applications submitted through our website are retained for as long as needed to respond to them and to maintain a reasonable record of our dealings with you, and are reviewed periodically and deleted when no longer needed.

Orders and transactions. Retained as long as required by applicable tax and accounting obligations.

11. Third-party sites and services

The Site links to services operated by others, including our reservation platform and our gift card platform. When you follow those links you leave our Site, and the privacy practices of those services govern. We encourage you to review their policies.

12. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the revised policy on this page and update the “Last updated” date above.
